BlackBerry CCoE 1st Anniversary CTF Competition
I was thrilled to participate in the BlackBerry CCoE CTF competition, celebrating the first anniversary of the BlackBerry Cybersecurity Center of Excellence in Malaysia!
My Role and Challenges
Our team took on the various challenges, and I was primarily tasked with the mobile CTF category. I’m proud to have successfully navigated and solved all the mobile challenges. Additionally, I enjoyed tackling and solving some of the Reverse Engineering (RE) and Pwn challenges, although some Pwn problems proved quite tricky!
A huge shoutout to my incredible teammates for their expertise in the miscellaneous and web problems – their contributions were crucial to our team’s overall performance. It was a fantastic display of teamwork, culminating in our team achieving a Top 5 finish!
Panel Session: “Cybersecurity for All”
Beyond the competition, we also had the opportunity to attend an insightful panel session titled “Cybersecurity for All – Pathways, People, and Possibilities.” The discussion offered valuable perspectives on the expanding landscape of cybersecurity in Malaysia, highlighting the need for diverse talents, the impact of AI, and the increasing importance of soft skills in the field.
Overall Experience
It was a fantastic and well-organized event by BlackBerry CCoE. The combination of challenging CTF tasks, insightful discussions, and great networking opportunities (plus great food!) made for a memorable and valuable learning experience. I’m looking forward to participating in more events like this in the future.
